|
Directions
If you like crisp
topping, make it before you cook the macaroni
cheese. Microwave a measure of 2 cups fresh
breadcrumbs, 1 Tbsp melted butter and 1 Tbsp
chopped parsley until crumbs turn golden, 2-4
minutes.
Cut butter into 9 cubes. Melt in fairly large,
flat-bottomed microwave dish, about 1 minute on
High (100% power). Stir in garlic salt and
macaroni, or any other shape of pasta that holds
a lot of sauce, e.g. lisci or spirals. Pour
boiling water over pasta.
Cover. Cook at Medium (50% power) for 10-15
minutes, until pasta is tender, stirring every 5
minutes. Stir in milk immediately. Mix grated
cheese with flour. Stir into hot pasta mixture.
Stir gently for 30-60 seconds until cheese
melts.
Microwave 2 minutes or until mixture bubbles all
round edge. Stir again. Leave to stand 3 minutes
Sprinkle with prepared crumbs. If desired.
