Make Your Own Carpet Fresh

Add Peppermint, Basil, Eucalyptus or any other essential oil to a box of baking soda. Use a jar with a lid. Let sit at least a day. Sprinkle on carpets, let sit for 30-60 minutes then vacuum as usual. This also helps with flea control. Much nicer than the synthetic, chemical based products on the market.

Park & Walk

Whenever you have an errand, park your car as far away as you can handle and walk to the store. At the mall, park at the farthest end and walk the length of the mall. Use every opportunity to walk. At the end of the day, it all adds up to better fitness.

Test Your BMI

Formula : weight(kg) / [height (m)]2

BMI below 18.5 : Underweight.  18.5 - 24.9 : Normal

25.0 - 29.9 : Overweight.  30.0 and above : Obese

Kitchen Burns

For minor kitchen burns, apply pure Lavender essential oil generously to the affected area, then cool with ice cubes. The next day the skin should look like nothing happened.

Alcohol and Weight Loss

Alcohol can add hundreds of calories to your daily intake, which can make the difference between weight loss, maintaining your current weight, or gaining weight. A single glass of beer or wine can contain at least 100 calories. Having a few drinks 3-4 nights a week could be adding 1,000 unforeseen calories to your diet. Alcohol also acts as an appetite stimulant, and can lead you to eat or crave foods that are not within with your weight-loss plan. If you are dieting or are simply having trouble getting rid of that last little bit of fat, keep your alcohol intake to a minimum.
